The rise of XDA developers, a website for software modification, was a huge success. In just three years, it gained 100,000 members. The XDA devices were made by a company called high tech computer corporation (HTC). Despite not making phones anymore, HTC produced some of the best smartphones back then. XDA developers showed that the smartest people were outside companies like Sun Microsystems. Rich Miner, a man working at Orange Ventures, had a company called Wildfire Communications, which was a precursor to Siri.
