Is Proportional Representation a Bad Idea?
Proportional representation can refer to all sorts of different things. The system you're talking about, the irish style system, doesn't have a national voe tally. It's still base on districts. Now, one confusing point is you can have either candidates running, or parties running inside a district. And so it could be that if democrats win 60 % of the local vote, they get three out of the five seats. If republicans win, you know, 20 %, they get one. And then if your, i don't know, what should we call the mit romney party, another 20% and en you're like, hypothetical world wher we've got
