The Importance of Anticipating Difficulties in Life

He sarcastically remarked that I must be joking and those six years caused me high anxiety. It was a constant struggle and seemed extremely difficult. I countered by saying that it didn't appear difficult to me. He then explained that his expectation for easy things led to his perception of difficulty. He referenced M Scott Peck's book that emphasizes life as inherently difficult. Understanding this allows us to rise above it and take pride in overcoming challenges. Conversely, expecting no difficulties leads to disillusionment.
