Macros and Performance: The Importance of Protein, Fats, and Carbohydrates

Balancing macros is crucial for optimizing performance. Protein is the most important macro, followed by sufficient fats for health and hormonal balance. Consuming fats beyond health benefits does not provide performance benefits. A balanced ratio of approximately 30-35% protein, 30% fat, and 40% carbs is recommended for performance, especially for anaerobic activities. While common diets have around 18% protein, intentionally consuming around 0.7-0.8 grams of protein per kilo of body weight is vital for performance.
