Navigating Desires and Global Capitalism

In a global capitalist society, the ethical choice of not betraying desires is crucial. To achieve this, one must take control of desires by mastering the art of saying 'I would prefer not to.' This action clears the way for a new form of subjectivity to emerge, distinct from the one imposed by global capitalism. It is highlighted that desires and actions shaped by the capitalist system inadvertently perpetuate it. Even forms of protest are often within the boundaries accepted by the system, limiting radical systemic change. The perpetuation of capitalism doesn't require a grand conspiracy but results from the collective actions of individuals seeking personal benefit within the system. As a result, many individuals advocating for change avoid discussing revolutionary options openly to prevent dilution and co-option of their ideas. Ultimately, the key to escaping such a system lies in non-participation.
