It's not just an extreme form of anxiety, and many people with OCD do not even experience anxiety. Myth: People with OCD like their compulsive behaviors. Fact: People with OCD do not enjoy their behaviors and do not want to be doing or thinking about them. These behaviors are not a choice and are not ego-syntonic.
