Myth: OCD is just a quirk or an adjective, and it's often seen as a more extreme form of anxiety. Fact: OCD is a disorder that can significantly debilitate individuals, requiring significant hours each day. It's not just an extreme form of anxiety, and many people with OCD do not even experience anxiety. Myth: People with OCD like their compulsive behaviors. Fact: People with OCD do not enjoy their behaviors and do not want to be doing or thinking about them. These behaviors are not a choice and are not ego-syntonic.
