Beware of the Ideological Imposition
In political uprisings like Tahrir Square in Egypt and Maidan in Ukraine, a small, organized group can impose its ideology on the wider masses, despite the original intent of the protests. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood used the opportunity to enforce a pious agenda that differed from the protesters' motivations. Similarly, in Ukraine, various factions, including those with potentially more radical views, sought to influence the movement's direction. This contrasts sharply with the Bolshevik Revolution, where the revolutionary ideology was much more aligned with the sentiments of the masses. Thus, caution is warranted as movements can be co-opted by smaller groups with distinct agendas.
