Managing Expectations and Being Present
Our expectations often prevent us from being present and experiencing the moment. These expectations come from past experiences, but they may not align with the present. Instead of trying to force ourselves to be present, it should be a natural extension of who we truly are, just like children who are naturally curious and present. As adults, we have been conditioned to believe that our happiness depends on external factors, but if we can regain a sense of wonder from within, we can become more present and open to whatever happens around us. Rather than trying to get something from the present moment, we should focus on what we can give, such as being ourselves, smiling, or showing appreciation.
