Chicago's government lacks the capacity for research and development to address social problems like gun violence. By partnering with the government and conducting R&D, we aim to provide innovative solutions. Many existing programs to prevent crime and recidivism are ineffective despite high levels of funding.
In policing, as in most vocations, the best employees are often promoted into leadership without much training. One economist thinks he can address this problem — and, with it, America’s gun violence.
