Empires: A Grand Unified Theory of Historical Polity
Empires are not limited to Western Europe - Africans, Incas, Aztecs and many others throughout history have built empires. Empire is the standard form of historical polity, and it is prevalent everywhere. The ideal history course would focus on understanding all empires, acknowledging their prevalence, varied durations, and different business models. There is a need for a better grand unified theory of empire. There is a hope to collaborate with physicist Jeffrey West to create a comprehensive study of empires that will make all of history more intelligible.
