NOTE

Dealing With Imposter Syndrome

When transitioning to a new role, it is normal to feel like an imposter because you are a beginner. This does not make you a liar or a fake. To progress to the next stage, you have to act like you are ready even when you are just starting out. Feeling like an imposter is common and is actually a sign of mental health and competence. It is important to admit your ignorance and ask questions when dealing with competent people. Asking questions shows intellectual humbleness and is endearing to well-balanced individuals. Competent people are always asking questions because they know what they don't know. Therefore, asking questions is a trajectory towards becoming more competent.
