Scientology's Galactic Federation and the Prison Planet
At the lower levels, Scientology considers everyone theta, the primary animator of the body. However, at the upper confidential levels, Scientology introduces the concept of body theta and a theta cluster. According to Hubbard, the Galactic Federation, similar to Star Wars, had a politician named Zenu/Zemu, who populated his system and then attempted to get rid of a significant portion of the population 76 million years ago by freezing and transporting them to Earth. These beings are said to be in a half-dead, unconscious state on Earth for the past 76 million years. Hubbard claimed that fresh thetans were then brought to Earth as a prison planet for troublemakers, rebels, artists, and those who couldn't be controlled. He asserted that Earth is a prison we are doomed to live life after life with our memories being wiped, keeping us from seeking a way to escape. Hubbard alleged that religions were invented by alien captors to spiritually program and trap the population of Earth, aiming to keep us occupied and prevent us from realizing Earth's status as a prison planet. Ultimately, Hubbard sought to explain the fallen state of man from a Judeo-Christian perspective by associating the trapped theta and spirits with rebels or artists rebelling against an unknown force.
