Is There Nothingness?
John collins: Could you and an ancient egyptian reach mutu understanding, not a concept of nothingness? And that's a fascinating question to think about. When we in our culture tell ation stories, we want a house story - but when the ancient world talked about creation, they wanted a home story. They wanted an understanding of how things work in the environment in which they live. So i can't really answer whether they would have comprehended nothingness as we might discuss it. But in some of my work, i talk about the ference between a house and a home.
