Balancing the Failure Modes of Bodily Systems
Cells can encounter two failure modes: one is the failure to maintain itself and the other is the overproliferation of cells. The inability to solve the under repair problem stems from exacerbating the over repair problem, leading to an increase in cancer. Cancer is not classified as a disease but rather as a failure mode. Every cancer is unique as it is produced when a body tissue fails in a specific manner. By introducing chaos into cells, the balance of feedback systems is disrupted.
