How I Built This with Guy Raz
Building Artificial General Intelligence
The speaker is interested in developing artificial intelligence systems that are general and capable of thinking like humans. After the collapse of a company, the speaker delved deeper into the subject and was convinced, especially after reading Ray Kurzweil's book, that very powerful AI systems will emerge in a few decades. The speaker estimated a 50% chance of achieving what is now known as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by 2028. AGI, as per the speaker's definition, refers to an artificial agent that can perform cognitive tasks people can do, and potentially more.
