Changing the order of tasks can help in remembering to follow through, such as relining the trash before taking it out. Making things visible in the physical space can serve as a reminder, especially for individuals with ADHD. Forgetting occurs when items are out of sight, whereas making them visible prompts action, such as seeing an open trash lid upon reentering the house.
