Origins of Health Care Insurance and the Need for Change
In the 1950s, pharmacies provided medication and advice directly to customers, and we should return to that model. Hospital health care insurance should be funded by local communities, individuals, businesses, and unions. The community should decide which services to prioritize and the associated costs. This approach would eliminate the need for complicated medical coding and Medicare cost reports focused on insurance revenue. Instead, healthcare should be consumer-driven, with consumers as the customers, similar to the Netflix model.
