Corporate vs. Government Surveillance
The primary concern for privacy and control no longer lies with government surveillance, but rather with corporate surveillance. Companies collect the majority of data and have more resources to do so, using it to potentially discriminate and influence behaviors. This undermines equality and equal opportunity, as individuals are judged based on their data. Moreover, the boundary between corporate and government surveillance is blurred, as they often share collected data, creating a continuous loop of surveillance and data sharing between companies and governments.
