In a visit to Obalendi Market, it was discovered that staple foods like beans, maize, and sorghum have increased in price by up to 400% in the past year, while wages have remained stagnant. This disparity has led to a severe food crisis, with hunger escalating from conflict areas to affecting poorer households throughout Nigeria. Out of 44 million food insecure people in West Africa, more than half are Nigerian.
