VCs Should Not Fear Sell-offs on Markups
Venture capitalists should not always follow market trends blindly in terms of markups. It's important for VCs to think pragmatically about whether it makes sense to proceed or not. If it doesn't, considering a sell-off or secondary market option could be more rational. Despite VCs' apprehension about upsetting founders, involving founders in decisions about sell-offs can be beneficial. Founders tend to be understanding when VCs explain the need to balance their own business interests with those of the founders. Therefore, VCs should not be overly concerned about engaging in sell-offs and should communicate openly with founders about such decisions.
