Speaking of Jung: Interviews with Jungian Analysts

NOTE

Exploring Personal Myth and Finding Purpose

Chapter 10 explores the necessity of personal myth and poses seven questions to help us dive into our unconscious. These questions prompt us to examine our patterns, stuckness, avoidances, overcompensations, symptoms, dreams, and purpose. While we often live reactively, it's important to understand that this is not in service to life but rather anxiety management. The first half of life is about fulfilling societal demands, while the second half is about discovering meaning and purpose. For the speaker, learning and teaching have been their guiding myth, and sharing knowledge brings them joy and a sense of purpose. Each person has their own calling, and it's important to question and overcome interferences to fulfill that calling.
