This confusion inspired the author to write a book defining polarity as an energetic exchange between necessary and complimentary components of the universe. One example of this is the energetic exchange between heterosexual males and females, which generates energy. According to the occult, simply standing next to someone of the opposite gender can generate energy, even without being attracted to each other.
