Castration extends the average lifespan of domestic dogs by a year and a half and is also observed in wild boars, primates, and human eunuchs. Historical data from the Korean Imperial court and mid-century America support this. Castrated males generally live longer, healthier lives with less signs of aging in their hearts, better peripheral vascular response, and a potential cancer effect. This longevity trend is observed in central Asian traditions, albeit with mixed data in Italian castrati.
