Maximizers search for the best decisions, while satisficers are content with good enough. Research shows that satisficers tend to be happier. Applying this approach to work can lead to finding contentment in our jobs. While it's important to aim for excellence and innovation, we must also recognize that our jobs are just a part of who we are and strive for balance in all aspects of our lives.
Many of us have internalized the message that there’s one dream job for us and we shouldn’t stop until we find it.
