Sometimes people pass it off to some one else. You often see evidence of this on stack overflow, where people post almost a solution in a comment. That means theyr thinking about it outloud as well, and a sort of looking for validation from it. So platform such as this where developers are encouraged to just kind of fireman off the hip. And there's even some extrinsic motivation to do that, if you might be right and you could get some points for it.
