NOTE

Bringing Contributors Into an Open Source Project

i think that there is a really large ethical space around bringing contributors into an open source project. What do we do when that space is not held in a way that we agree to collectively? How do we maintain ourselves first and foremost? It's good to acknowledge that some boundaries are aspirational, rather than necessarily inherently descriptive of where a community is at the moment. And these things aren't automatic, that we have to be very conscious and very intentional with how we set our expectations.
