NK cell TLR response to LPS challenge
NK cells have memory-like responses to LPS challenges even in mice that have not been exposed to LPS before. The authors initially hypothesized that the response might be related to Toll-like receptors (TLRs) since LPS interacts with TLR2 and TLR4. However, the study revealed that the primary and memory-like responses of NK cells during the LPS challenge were not dependent on TLR2 and TLR4 as expected.
