The Faith of a Prostitute: Rahab
The Summit Church
Rahab's Faith
Rahab exemplifies that faith does not require impressive strength or certainty; it is rooted in trust in God's grace despite fears and doubts. Her knowledge of God was limited, and she grappled with unanswered questions about her situation. However, her salvation came not from the intensity of her faith but from her willingness to obey God's command by staying within her house and marking her window with a scarlet cord. This illustrates that the essence of faith is in where one places hope, rather than the strength or clarity of that faith. Doubts are acceptable as long as they are held within the context of faith, akin to being inside the ark, rather than outside it. Ultimately, even a weak faith in Jesus is effective for salvation, while strong faith in anything else is not.
