The construction of Heron Tower was groundbreaking as it introduced a new concept of sky level dining. Before this, restaurant entrances were mostly on street level but the innovative design with high-speed lifts directly to the restaurant met the demand of customers for a unique dining experience. This approach was unconventional at that time and highlighted Gerald Ronson's visionary thinking.
