Finding a ceo who understands the product
In the beginning, the most important thing is for the person to understand the product. It takes time to generate revenue and launch the product, so having someone who can create it is crucial. This was the case with engineers Dwight and Eliot at Mongo, with Henry's unique editorial vision at a bisinceter, and with the design and merchandise team at Guilt. Finding the right people with the necessary skills was key in all three situations.
