Perception of Disability in Ancient Tribes

In ancient tribes, individuals with rare conditions were not viewed negatively; instead, they were treated with dignity and almost considered deities. They were seen as special signs from God, with a unique perspective that benefitted the tribe. The prevalence of conditions like schizophrenia and severe autism challenges genetic theories, as these individuals are often overlooked, struggle to reproduce, and face significant challenges in daily life.
