Matt, an expert on spontaneous speaking, shares his personal experience of always being asked to speak first and the importance of being able to think on your feet. He explains that spontaneous speaking is about stepping up and speaking in the moment, whether it's answering a question, giving feedback, or introducing someone. Matt became interested in helping others with this concept when he noticed bright students struggling with cold call situations. They would panic and struggle to respond even though they knew the answers. He wanted to empower others to overcome this challenge.
In this episode, executive producer Jenny Luna interviews host and strategic communications lecturer Matt Abrahams about the tips and tools in his new book, Think Faster, Talk Smarter: How to Speak Successfully When You're Put on the Spot
