Scientific theories should not be self-contradictory, needlessly complex, or unable to make predictions; underlying epistemic values are axiomatic in science. The distinction between facts and values is questioned, asserting the existence of right and wrong answers to moral questions within the purview of science based on the existence of conscious minds and their experiences of well-being and suffering.
