Calcutta has experienced migration due to the ramifications of the border between India and Pakistan. Pakistan, consisting of East and West wings, is separated by a thousand miles of Indian territory. West Pakistan dominates East Pakistan, leading to its eventual break off and becoming Bangladesh, as the two regions have little in common besides religion.
