Having strong opinions that are not based on reason and evidence, and being closed to discussion or evidence, hinders productive conversation. Some people hold onto opinions, especially those related to religion, without question or ability to defend them. This closed-mindedness to challenging beliefs limits open dialogue and understanding among individuals, especially when these beliefs are shielded from scrutiny within the realm of religion. It is vital to be open to discussing core values, future expectations, and even deeply held beliefs, as these differences cannot be avoided and are important to navigate in conversations.
