Growing up in a family where constructing logical arguments is valued can lead to reinforcing beliefs, even if those beliefs are based on flawed axioms. When individuals make arguments to persuade others, they are most likely to persuade themselves first due to self-trust and credibility. Self-persuasion occurs as individuals come up with convincing reasons, leading to cognitive dissonance.
