The process of visualization has been shown to significantly increase muscle strength, particularly in older populations. Studies have demonstrated that older individuals can experience a 36% increase in muscle strength simply by visualizing exercising. Research on visualization primarily focuses on physical performance, such as with athletes, indicating that combining physical training with visualization can lead to increased strength. Surprisingly, even without physical activity, visualizing exercise can lead to physical strength gains. While the effect may be more prominent in older individuals, it has shown efficacy in younger populations as well.
