Interior Integration for Catholics

NOTE

Using Jesus and God in Therapy

There are situations where bringing Jesus into therapy work in an explicitly Jesus centric or God centric way may not be suitable./nInternal conflicts and complex relationships with God can be a contraindication for integrating Jesus into therapy./nIndividuals who have experienced spiritual trauma, betrayal trauma, or abandonment trauma may perceive God in negative ways, making it challenging to introduce God in therapy./nThose with problematic father issues may struggle with the concept of God as a father figure./nIndividuals with authority issues, bitterness, resentment, or disappointment toward God may have difficulty accepting a God centric approach in therapy./nUnresolved grief can make it challenging for parts carrying those burdens to accept God being imposed on them in a God centric approach to therapy.
