The Decision to Move to Sydney
After three years of work, a magnificent solution was found to a problem that arose during construction. The heavy supports that had been built were almost indestructible, but the new design required even heavier supports. In order to replace them, the local contractor suggested dynamiting the old supports during rush hour to hide the noise. However, this plan backfired when a piece of concrete landed on a passing ferry. Despite this setback, Utson decided to move his office to Sydney and continue overseeing the project.
