Prayer may not always bring immediate peace like a miracle, but it is more like a daily vitamin that cultivates intrinsic peace within. Intrinsic motivation, where an activity is an end in itself, is more meaningful and sustainable compared to extrinsic motivation, where an activity is a means to an external end. The human mind naturally gravitates towards fear, anxiety, and regret, making fear a constant undercurrent in life. Individuals often struggle to cope with negative ruminations by seeking self or circumstance perfection.
