We are fortunate to have the ability to express our inner thoughts and feelings, thanks to the cognitive tools and language passed down to us by writers and psychologists. Modern humans seem much more intelligent compared to ancient texts because we have inherited this gift. Writers like Virginia Woolf and James Joyce played a crucial role in capturing the intricacies of consciousness through stream of consciousness literature. We owe a lot to them and others for developing the language around consciousness, although some aspects, like Freud's contributions, may have negative effects.
