Advocating for Palestine requires providing witness, being voices in the wilderness, arguing for, historicizing, contextualizing, and humanizing Palestine. Self-censorship and intimidation should be avoided as Western advocates are privileged compared to Palestinians, and a generation change is underway, representing the future. The realignment of the Palestinian narrative in the discourse of justice, morality, equality, and freedom is inevitable despite historical challenges.
Featuring Noura Erakat, Avi Shlaim, Ussama Makdisi, Ilan Pappé, Ghada Ageel Hamdan, and Abdel Razzaq Takriti on the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Recorded at the World Academic Forum for Palestine in Houston. We’ll be back next week with episode eight of Thawra, our rolling series on 20th century Arab radicalisms.
