The importance of trust and likeability in cybersecurity
In cybersecurity, it's crucial to have the trust and support of your team and the board. If the employees don't like you, it could affect your credibility and ability to execute strategies. However, if the board doesn't like you, it's even worse as you may not get any funding and might lose your staff. Winning over the board through data and risk analysis is key. Although some employees may not like you, that doesn't matter because you, Mary Rose, are likable. Overall, it is more challenging to gain the trust and investment of the board than dealing with employees who don't like you.
