The Importance of Consistency

The reason why people often go back to unhealthy habits after experiencing initial improvements in weight loss and health is because they didn't build the right relationship with what they were doing. When approaching weight loss or health with self-hate and restriction, exercise becomes punishing and diet becomes restrictive. Although their health improves, the negative relationship they built with this lifestyle eventually makes it unbearable. However, by shifting the perspective to self-love and self-care, exercise and nutrition become acts of caring for oneself. This new relationship with these behaviors leads to a craving for healthy food and a desire to continue taking care of oneself.
