Dollars are not a true bearer asset
Dollars, even when physically held, involve counterparty risk with the Federal Reserve due to the possibility of debasement from new dollar printing. This indicates that dollars are not true bearer assets, as they still have an associated liability. In contrast, physical gold or Bitcoin represent 100% equity as there is no associated liability involved in owning them. While dollars can be considered money, they do not fulfill the role of money perfectly due to the inherent liability component tied to inflation.
