Why Dieting is Hard
Dieting is difficult because our bodies never evolved to get rid of fat, but rather to store it as a survival mechanism. When we try to diet, our body goes into a starvation response, increasing cortisol levels which leads to sugar cravings and storing fat in visceral deposits. This kind of fat can be inflammatory and contribute to various diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer's, and heart disease.
