New products have to be managed differently from existing business
It was hard to do both for a whole host of reasons. There 're not two different products within the same company, like, they'redifferent in enough ways that they should be two different companies. And so it's like being firm on the things that matter and flexible on the thing that don't because you have to explore the the space of potential solutions.
