Dopamine, a vital neurochemical, plays different roles throughout the brain. It is associated with pleasure in the limbic system and is essential for maintaining movement and synchronization of motor circuits. In Parkinson's, the loss of dopamine leads to symptoms like shuffling gait and ultimately can result in significant mobility issues, necessitating treatments like el-dopa to promote dopamine production.
