The Limitations in Pursuit of Ideas
Humility is key in understanding the limits of one's knowledge and understanding. Many people overestimate what they can accomplish and fail to evaluate the challenges of implementing an idea. There is a tendency to pursue too many good ideas without considering the limited capacity for accomplishment. Overconfidence and over exuberance in pursuing policies lead to an expansion of the government's ambition and currency supply. However, increasing the currency supply does not increase manufacturing capacity or assets. It only leads to inflation and a collapse of confidence in institutions and trading partners.
