The Importance of Maintaining Institutions to Prevent War, Plague, and Famine

Humans have built institutions which prevent war, plague and famine, compared to building a dam controlling a river. However, if institutions are not maintained, disasters will return. Global order has deteriorated since 2010, with Brexit and Trump's isolationist policies. This has resulted in the collapse of institutions, leading to wars, famines and the pandemic. We still have time to save the institutions but not much.
